A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are two types of denture services available: partial dentures and full dentures. Lifetime Dental’s teams of highly-qualified dentists have the experience and expertise you need when it comes to dentures of both kinds. We can help you restore your smile and your confidence.
Partial Denture Procedure
Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, but several are missing. First, your dentist will make a few dental impressions and take some measurements on how your jaws align. Then, they will make models of how your dentures will appear, and you may have a few partial denture fittings to ensure that the shape, color, and alignment of the dentures are correct. The partial denture will be cast with any missing teeth, and they may also include a metal framework and/or crowns to keep the denture in place.
Full Dentures Procedure
Full dentures are used when most, if not all, of your teeth are missing. Creation of these dentures follows a similar procedure to that of partial dentures. The major difference is in the beginning, where your dentist may need to reshape or remove what teeth remain if they are damaged or decaying. Otherwise, your dentist will make impressions, take measurements, create models, call you in for denture fittings, and create the dentures especially for you.
